John Wayne Huish

1941 ~ 2007

John, loving husband of 33 years, best friend and eternal companion of Christina Manwaring Huish passed away Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2007.

Born Feb. 25, 1941 to Wayne W. and Virginia D. Huish in Salt Lake City, UT. John attended Douglas Elementary, Bryant Jr. and East High Schools. Graduated University of Utah with a degree in Architecture. Worked for many well known architectural firms in UT, WA, OR, ID and CO. Director of U of U Campus Design and Construction for 17 years, overseeing many high profile projects, including Huntsman Cancer Inst.

John was an accomplished artist, outdoorsman and handyman. Loved performing with his wife and many dear friends in the Utah Symphony Chorus. Hobbies included reading, model making, stamp collecting, restoring furniture, puttering, humming and humor.

Survived by his wife; sons, John Matthew (Nicole) Huish and Jacob John (Heidi) Huish; daughter, Julia Christina Huish; granddaughters, Lila Rose, Ayzia Jade and another in Oct.; sister, Anne (Jim) Stewart. Preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Nancy and Susan.

Funeral Services will be held Mon., Aug. 27th at 11 a.m. at the Wilford Stake Center, 3080 So. 1765 E. (Kenwood St.), SLC, where Visitations will be held Sun., Aug. 26th from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Mon. Interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, 1950 E. 10600 So., Sandy.
