Ronald Rees Robinson

1926 ~ 2007

COALVILLE~Ronald Robinson, 81, passed away August 22, 2007 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He was born February 14, 1926 in Coalville, Utah to Harvey W. and Clarice Rees Robinson. He joined the United States Navy at age 17 with lifetime friend Dean Black, and served on the USS Buoyant. He married Nina Jean Wilde on June 6, 1947. They had five children together. Ron and Nina raised sheep and cattle together on their farm in Chalk Creek for many years; this resulted in many wonderful memories of great fun and great food for all who helped them in the place, all of whom were watched over by beloved K9 companion, Katie. Ron was elected Summit County Sheriff in 1962 and retired in 1982. He also later served as a Summit County Commissioner for a term, making many friends and acquaintances along the way. He lived a full and happy life, meeting many interesting people in his travels and always had very fond memories of the many friends he made in Beaver Dam during his winters there.

He is survived by his children, Rona (David) Wright, Coalville; Marsha (Van) Jenkins, Logan; Sally (Phil) Bristow, Coalville; Bob (Cathy) Robinson, Coalville; Kip Robinson, Coalville; eight grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; sisters, Fae Jensen, Ogden; Vera (Don) Wright, Coalville; brother, Jim (Sharon) Robinson, St. George. Preceded in death by his wife, Nina; sister, Norma Wilde. The family would like to thank Mom and Dad at this time for the many lessons learned and the quality of life they made possible by both of their hard work and un-equaled heartfelt love.
