Evan Dewitt Ginn Jr.

1943 ~ 2007

Evan Dewitt Ginn Jr. passed away after a courageous battle with cancer August 22, 2007 in Houston, TX. His joy was centered in family, church, work, The Savior, his children and grandchildren.Born December 5, 1943 to Christine and Dewitt Ginn in Savannah, GA. Raised in Greenville, SC. Graduated from Brigham Young University and served an LDS Mission in Northern California. Married Joan Edwards Ginn in the St. George LDS Temple, June 7, 1968. Worked the last 34 years for Baker Hughes, last as Vice President of Human Resources at Baker Petrolite.

Dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Evan served in the Stake Presidency of the Cypress Texas Stake, Ward leadership and Temple Ordinance worker. Evan traveled throughout the world, but would do anything to never miss a special event (dance performance, ball game, etc) in the lives of his family.

Evan is survived by his wife, Joan; his children, Lisa (Todd) Foster of Spring, Texas; Tyler (Vicki) Ginn of Chicago, Illinois; Kirk (Kari) Ginn of Houston, Texas; and Emily (Travis) Kikuchi of Honolulu, HI; his grandchildren, Samantha, Makell, Addison, Maya, Kate, Henderson, Kennedy and Campbell; his sisters, Wanda (Dennis) Gillilan, Becky (Cater) Leland, and Tena (Randy) Rummage. Evan was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Lori Ann Ginn, and granddaughter, Sara Ann Ginn.
