I have been unimpressed with media coverage of the mine accident. I have seen the faces of grieving people plastered on front pages and heard references to their sadness and dwindling hope daily. I feel that this approaches exploitation of those involved, that the media as a whole have made their lives into a spectacle where everyone can gawk. In the future, I would appreciate objective explanation of events rather than sensationalist attempts to arouse emotion in the otherwise uninvolved.
