As a retired real estate broker I'm appalled at the banks and mortgage lenders in general for the deplorable condition they have created by their lending practices in order to encourage a boom market. Our Founding Fathers talked about life, liberty and "property" as much as they talked of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Much happiness has often come from borrowing for the ownership of a home or condominium. Our system has been the envy of the world.
It's time to return to the fundamentals of good lending policies, which have served America so well.
