HEBER CITY — A small glider made a crash landing about 100 feet south of a runway at Russ McDonald Airfield Saturday afternoon, the Wasatch County Sheriff's Office reported.
The feet and legs of a 55-year-old man were injured in the crash; the man was taken from the scene via an emergency helicopter. He was the aircraft's pilot and only passenger. His identity was not immediately released.
The crash totaled the 1971 Standard Cirrus glider, the sheriff's office reported.
The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the crash.
Elsewhere in Utah, authorities are investigating a small plane crash that occurred Saturday afternoon in St. George. That crash inured Reginald Robbins, 71, and his wife, Judy, 62, both from St. George. They were taken to Dixie Regional Medical Center.
