WEST JORDAN — A 22-year-old man was robbed and shot inside his home Sunday by a female acquaintance and two of her male friends, police said.
The crime occurred about 8:15 p.m. near 3800 West and Lewisport Drive (3425 South).
The victim initially thought the group was at his home for a visit and let them inside, said West Jordan Police Sgt. Greg Butler. But once inside, the trio robbed the man of cash and other items and one shot was fired, grazing the man's thigh, Butler said. The man was transported to the Jordan Valley Hospital in fair condition.
"It was a targeted robbery," Butler said. "The public has no reason to be in fear."
After the shooting, the trio left in an older, red Ford Bronco II with its top removed. Police have asked that anyone with information about the Bronco or the robbers call police at 801-840-4000.
