Wynona Anderson Dewey

Wynona Anderson Dewey was born July 17, 1908 in Salem, Idaho to Joseph and Emma Ann Williams Anderson, the 12th of 15 children.
She moved to Los Angeles, California with her family in 1923 where she completed her secondary education. She was a graduate of the Seaside Hospital School of Nursing at Long Beach, California, taking advanced courses in Pediatrics, Obstetrics, and communicable diseases at Alameda Bay Hospital in Oakland, California. After completion of nursing training, she was employed by the Children's Hospital in Hollywood, California until her marriage to David D. Dewey in 1935.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in ward, stake, and temple callings on virtuously a continuous basis, being highly regarded as a teacher. She and her husband moved to Orem, Utah in 1977, where she resided until the death of her husband in 1999. She then lived in the Bountiful area until her passing.
She is survived by her children, Nancy (Paul) Scharf, Fair Oaks, California; and David (Sue) Dewey, Woods Cross, Utah; 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, David D. Dewey.
Funeral services will be held Thurs. August 30, 2007 at 11:30 a.m., in the Orchard 1st Ward LDS Chapel, 670 East 800 North, Orem. Friends may call at the Ward Chapel, Thurs. from 10:30 until 11:20 a.m. Interment, Orem City Cemetery. Services under the direction of Berg Mortuary of Orem.
