Merrill Hunt

8/01/1948 ~ 8/25/2007

Our loving husband, father and grandfather returned to his Heavenly Father August 25, 2007 after a five-year battle with an illness that doctors struggled to diagnose.

He was born August 1, 1948 in Murray, Utah. He graduated from Granger High School, where he starred as the captain of the basketball and football teams. He married his high school sweetheart, Vicki Kershaw in 1966 in the L.D.S. Salt Lake Temple.

He is survived by his loving wife; his children: Rhonda (Russell) Johnson, Stacy (Shane) McKnight, Kenneth (Becki) Hunt, Michelle Hill and Scott Hunt; 14 grandchildren; father, Warren Merrill Hunt; brothers: Warren Lee Hunt and Rendall Hunt; sisters: Troyleen Wilson and Trena Hunt. He was preceded in death by his mother, Beatrice Lorraine Butt Hunt MaGee.

Merrill was a residential contractor, specializing in framing for nearly 35 years. He was an example of hard work and loved seeing the completion of a job well done. The love of his life was his family. He loved nothing more than spending time with them. He was a huge strength and support to his family and friends. He was an avid sports fan, particularly of B.Y.U. football. He had a strong testimony and love of the gospel. He served in various leadership positions within the church and loved serving (playing) with the youth. He will be greatly missed!!
