OREM — Police responded to two bomb threats at a grocery store in Orem and have now turned over the investigation to the FBI.

"We don't believe there's any credible threat to the Orem store," said Orem Police Lt. Doug Edwards of the Macey's Grocery Store on 800 N. State in Orem. "Anything that I've found has been turned over to the FBI."

He said it appeared to be an Internet-generated call that came from out of state, but wouldn't elaborate further.

The FBI had no comment Monday.

A call came in around 4:31 a.m. Monday morning with an threat that there was a bomb in the store, Edwards said.

The caller told the employee to gather all the money in the store and put it on the front desk.

Orem officers and the Utah County Bomb Squad responded, and the building was determined to be safe about two hours later, Edwards said.

The same man male suspect called back at 7:10 a.m. to make a similar threat, prompting officers to respond again.

After another sweep of the building, they cleared the scene about 8:45 a.m., Edwards said.
