I am very surprised — and somewhat shocked — that no one has rebutted Richard Watson's contention (Readers' Forum, Aug. 17) that there is no liberal media. So, I will take the challenge.

In the first place, print and TV producers, commentators and columnists themselves admit that they are biased in favor of liberal causes and the people who promote them. I do not know Mr. Watson's "little research" source, but he didn't fully do his homework.

For instance, where do the media highlight the positive things that are taking place in Iraq? Where do the media highlight the positive things that are happening in Afghanistan? Rather, they prefer beating to death all of the negative aspects of the conflict in those countries. The more part of the media is, in truth, liberal in virtually every instance. It is most assuredly not now dominated by the Republican Party, if in fact it ever was.
