OREM — An Orem man was arrested on suspicion of providing a 14-year-old girl with pornographic pictures and then offering to fly to see her to engage in sexual activities.
The 32-year-old man had allegedly been fired from his job at Nu Skin for excessive Internet usage, according to an affidavit of probable cause filed in 4th District Court.
The man had been chatting with a girl and had even purchased a plane ticket to meet her for sex in February, according to the man's wife, who called police about her husband.
The young girl changed her mind, however, and the man said he would attend gun training in Las Vegas instead, according to the affidavit.
Later, the girl allegedly asked for pornographic pictures and the man allegedly allowed her to take images from his computer.
The girl allegedly downloaded 800 to 1,000 images showing naked women and women engaged in sex acts.
Orem officials conducted a search warrant and confiscated all of the man's computers and media storage devices, according to the affidavit.
The man was booked into the Utah County Jail for investigation of distributing harmful material to a minor and enticing a minor over the Internet, and is being held on $5,000 cash or bond bail.
