It is very distressing that on the front page of the B section on Aug. 28 the headline is "Ex-member of LDS choir pleads guilty to porn charges" on a story by reporter Geoffrey Fattah. Then, when you turn to Page B3, there is a much smaller headline about a boy being molested after being lured away by a man. No religion is mentioned in the molestation case.
It seems the Deseret Morning News has jumped on the bandwagon of highlighting a person's religion if they are LDS. Never does the mention of another religion make the headline when a person is accused of a crime. I am getting sick and tired of people singling out a person as LDS but never mentioning the religion of others. Shame on the editor for allowing this reporter to make religion a part of the article. Divulge everyone's religion, or nobody's.
