The press has been quick to report on the many shortcomings of Bob Murray, including the fact that he "yelled" at the families of the trapped miners. Relatives of these men, and even the governor, have called his actions "despicable."

Although all would agree that it is better to control one's temper, I wonder how many of us would have reacted in the same situation. After weeks without sleep, constant worry and after doing all he felt he could possibly do, these family members, understandably upset, tore into Murray when he had to deliver the news that nothing else could be done. Blame, unkind words and accusations have been thrown at Murray day after day.

My heart goes out to him, and though his reaction was unfortunate, I feel it was very understandable.
