I was flabbergasted to read the startling conclusion of the "blue ribbon" committee that "Mankind blamed for warming" (Aug. 28). While the actions outlined by the committee for more responsible use of resources are largely overdue and much needed, the basic premise is unsound. Why do we continue to perpetuate the false premise that the burning of fossil fuels is "the cause" of global warming? It makes a contribution, but real science does not support the totality of the premise.
There is not a consensus of scientific opinion on global warming. Stop saying it! The truth is anyone bucking the system will lose research money, be politically roasted or be otherwise discredited if they stand against the tide.
