AT&T Inc. Chief Executive Officer Randall L. Stephenson said hackers' efforts to make the iPhone work with other mobile-phone services won't "materially" affect the company's sales.

The iPhone, a mobile phone offered exclusively by AT&T and Apple Inc., is selling well, Stephenson said today in an interview. He wouldn't say whether AT&T would pursue legal action against the hackers.

"At the end of the day, they're violating intellectual property rights," Stephenson said.
