CARSON, Calif. — Chris Klein scored in the 72nd minute to give the Los Angeles Galaxy a 2-1 victory over FC Dallas on Sunday night.
Dallas (12-10-4) played with 10 men for the final 66 minutes after Chris Gbandi received two yellow cards.
Klein took Cobi Jones' pass from the left flank and sent a 19-yard line drive into the upper-right corner of the net to give Los Angeles (5-13-6) only its second victory against a Major League Soccer team since Aug. 5.
Dallas took a 1-0 lead in the 11th minute on Dax McCarty's first career MLS goal. McCarty secured Gbandi's pass from the left wing and converted from 13 yards in front of two Galaxy defenders.
D.C. UNITED 1, FIRE 1: At Bridgeview, Ill., Jaime Moreno scored a late goal to lift D.C. United to the tie.
In the 18th minute, Chicago's Cuauhtemoc Blanco sent a perfect forward pass to Chad Barrett, who split two defenders and beat goalkeeper Troy Perkins with a shot into the lower left corner of the net for a 1-0 lead.
Moreno tied the game in the 83rd minute. He grabbed a loose ball on the right side of the box, then floated it over Fire goalie Matt Pickens and into the left side of the net.
Playoff-bound D.C. United (15-6-5) was without midfielders Fred, Christian Gomez and Ben Olsen, and Chicago (8-10-8), which is still battling for a playoff spot, was without defender Gonzalo Segares. All are serving a one-game suspension for yellow card accumulation.
