Victor John Stevens
1944 ~ 2008
Victor John Stevens returned peacefully to the arms of his Heavenly Father on January 11, 2008. His passing has left a deep void in the lives of his family.Victor was born April 28, 1944 to Lyle and Leah Hansen Stevens in Monroe, Utah. He graduated from South Sevier High School in 1962 and after graduation he entered the National Guard where he served for eight years. He married Dianne Cook on April 5, 1969 in Elko, NV. Together they had six children and two grandchildren. He enjoyed a long and successful career in the construction industry where he was known for his dedication to a high quality of craftsmanship.
Victor's greatest joy in life was his family. He set an example of integrity, loyalty, honesty and unconditional and unwavering love toward his family and others. He was a member of the LDS Church where he faithfully served and magnified his priesthood callings. His testimony and love for the Savior was exemplified through his actions and the way he selflessly served his family and those around him. Dad, we love and miss you
and look forward to the day when we are together, once again, as a family.
Victor is survived by his companion and dear friend, Dianne; children: Jeffrey, Monroe; Rodney, West Jordan; Trudy, St. Petersburg, FL, Marty (Meggie), Sandy; grandchildren, Emerson Scott and Chloe Leah Stevens; brothers: Mitchell (Carmen) Stevens, Kent Stevens; sister, Carolyn (John) Campbell. Preceded in death by his parents; son, Scott and an infant son; sister, Nancy Chapman.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 18, 2008 at 12:00 Noon at the Sandy Central Stake Center, 1050 E. Galena Drive (9820 S) where friends may call from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Graveside services will be held Saturday, January 19, 2008 at 1 p.m. Friends may call at the Monroe 1st Ward Chapel, 50 E. 200 N., Monroe, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial in the Monroe City Cemetery with military rites by the Monroe American Legion Post #37 and the Richfield Unit of the Utah National Guard. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
