"Kris"

R. Kristine Wood, age 55, passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2008. She was born in Provo, Utah on June 27th, 1952 to Clinton and Elaine Oaks. She was the second of seven children. She graduated from Orem High School and later completed her special education degree at Brigham Young University.

She met her husband Ronald R. Wood while attending BYU. They were married for all time and all eternity on December 22nd, 1973 in the Provo, Utah Temple. Kris made a valuable decision at this point to fulfill the greatest calling of life, that of being a mother. She raised seven beautiful children and will now return to be with two of her children in heaven, Steven and Katherine.

She was a true angel and positively impacted so many lives. She was constantly helping someone in need. She lived a life of service. She was a great teacher, mentor, friend, and most importantly a wonderful mother. She fulfilled her calling here on earth, and focused her life on the well being of her family. She displayed the greatest example of humility, love, and patience. She loved lighthouses, angels and their analogy of providing a guiding light to those in need. She will always be known as a lighthouse of love and service, an angel to all in need.

She loved animals, science, and her service callings within the LDS church. Kris was always there to lend a smile, or give a hug in a time of need. She spent her life looking for opportunities to uplift those around her. She was the perfect woman, full of charity, hope, patience, and love.

She is survived by her husband Ron Wood, Riverton, Utah; her children; Kimberly (Joshua) Colton, Wichita, KS; John (Nicole) Wood, Riverton, Utah; Richard (Diana) Wood, Ypsilanti, Michigan; Scott Wood, Sandy, Utah, and Kelley Wood, Riverton, Utah. She had five grandchildren, Taylor, Adalynn and Riley Colton and Jasmine and Jared Wood. She is also survived by her mother Elaine Oaks, Orem Utah and her brothers: Mike Oaks, Orem, Utah and John Oaks, Orem, Utah, and her sisters Connie Baker, Sandy, Utah and Carrie Thompson, Orem, Utah. She was preceded in death by her father Clinton Oaks and sisters: Barbara Oaks and Shirley Oaks.

The viewings will be held Friday, January 18th, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. at 12590 S. 2200 W. Broomhead Funeral Home, and on Saturday, January 19th, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at 1885 W. 13400 S. Riverton, UT LDS Church. Funeral services will be held following the Saturday viewing at 11:00 a.m. Interment Mt. View Memorial Park. Online Condolences: www.broomheadfuneralhome.com

In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted in her name at Primary Children's Hospital.
