$800 won't help economy

Oh boy! An economic stimulus package. I get $800 to spend — or maybe $1,600 if I am married — to make the economy better!

I can run out and buy a new Ford pickup to help out the auto industry in Detroit. No, wait, that isn't enough money. It might make a house payment. From what the news tells me, that won't even pay off most people's credit-card balance.

I guess what it means is I run to Wal-Mart and buy some more junk made in China to help the Chinese build up their military.
