WASHINGTON COUNTY — A truck driver died after crashing his semitrailer truck into an apartment complex near St. George Thursday evening.
The truck was headed north on Interstate 15 when the crash happened around 5:15 p.m., said trooper Cameron Roden of the Utah Highway Patrol.
"For some reason he lost control and went off the roadway, into an apartment complex," Roden said. "We still don't have a cause. There are no signs of braking or trying to slow down."
The truck swerved and drove through an embankment and into a parking lot where it hit three cars before plowing into the apartment, Roden said.
Two people inside an apartment suffered minor injuries.
Officials were still working to remove the driver from the truck at about 9 p.m., Roden said.
The man's name, age and hometown were not immediately released Thursday night.
