A Taylorsville man will spend 15 years to life in prison for stabbing and killing a stranger in a mobile-home park last year.
David L. Berry, 29, was sentenced Wednesday in the August 2007 murder of Isidro Cano. Berry randomly stabbed Cano in the head and neck at the Majestic Oaks mobile-home park, 882 W. Big Mountain Drive (4690 South), police said.
"I want to kill someone," Berry said as he approached Cano and two other people that night, according to court documents.
Berry pleaded guilty to first-degree felony murder in July. In addition to his prison sentence, Berry was also ordered to pay more than $28,000 in restitution.
