While there are many reasons why we are facing an economic crisis due largely to a meltdown in the mortgage lending industry, the biggest problem is that Americans have forgotten why we have homes in the first place — houses are to live in!
The primary purpose of a home is not to be an investment or a source of income. First and foremost, a house should provide us with comfortable shelter.
Can you imagine Americans squealing if gas prices or utility bills go down? Of course not. If we get our priorities straight, we should be happy when housing becomes more affordable.
