ALGERNON BROWN, Skyline, football: Brown, a junior running back, returned to the playing field on Friday night after missing two weeks because of a knee injury. The timing couldn't have been better for Skyline.
Brown rushed for a 60-yard score on the Eagles' fourth play from scrimmage and ran for a total of 169 yards in Skyline's 41-7 win over Hillcrest. Brown also scored on a 36-yard run and a 63-yard pass from quarterback Kevin Wagstaff.
Brown has rushed for 489 yards this season. He has been offered a scholarship by BYU.

KALISTINA TAKAU, Hurricane, volleyball: This sophomore loves volleyball and her Tiger teammates so much she played part of last season with an ACL tear. Completely rehabilitated, she is now leading the Tigers through another successful season.
"We love that she demands a lot from her personal performances and works hard in the offseason to improve her skills in order to reach goals that she has established," said Hurricane volleyball coach Daniel McKeehan. "We are excited for her and what she brings to our team and program."
The 6-foot-1 middle blocker has earned 21 kills with a .538 hitting percentage and 15 blocks. She works just as hard in the classroom as she does on the court.
"She sets aside a great deal of time trying to develop in many facets of the game," said McKeehan. "She's just a wonderful person."
