Our overindulged City Council has again made a decision based on unreal premises. It claims that to invest $10 million in Leonardo might not be sound. How is it then that the council believes the purchase of a vacant property listed at $4 million and then used as an apparent driving range for police officers is good use of taxpayers' money?

The former Park & Fly lot on 400 South at about 2100 West was purchased by the city about a year ago. It has since stood vacant, except for an open area where they put in cones and drive police cars around to test their driving skills.

Don't we have enough government-owned parking lots where this could take place without buying a $4 million test track?
