Clearfield High is looking for a new head football coach to replace Billy Pluim, who is leaving the position after three years.

Athletic director Bruce Trimble didn't indicate whose decision it was for Pluim to part ways with Clearfield, simply saying, "We're going a different direction."

Interested applicants should call and leave their name at the school at 801-402-8200 by Dec. 1. Interviews will be held after that.

Pluim coached the Falcons for three seasons, going 10-21 overall with two play-in game losses his first two years. Clearfield won its final two games of the 2008 season after suffering a five-game losing streak.

Clearfield lost some of its player pool to the new Syracuse High, which will play Alta in the 5A semifinals Thursday in only its second year.
