OGDEN — A judge will decide if there's enough evidence to make Jacob Daniel Ethridge stand trial for the killings of two women here.

During an appearance in 2nd District Court on Wednesday, the judge scheduled a preliminary hearing for Jan. 20, prosecutors said. Ethridge, 31, is charged with two counts of aggravated murder, a first-degree felony.

He is accused of killing Teresa Tingey, 43, and Rosanna Marie Cruz, 25, on July 13. Police said the women worked as prostitutes along Adams Avenue when they encountered Ethridge. Ogden police said Ethridge walked into the police department and confessed to the killings.

Weber County prosecutors said no decision has been made about whether they will seek the death penalty in the case.
