MANTI — A man accused of killing two people in central Utah has struck a plea deal with prosecutors.

Court records show Donald Bert Richardson, 48, pleaded guilty during an appearance in 6th District Court on Thursday to two counts of first-degree felony aggravated murder. In exchange, prosecutors dismissed an aggravated burglary and two theft charges.

Sanpete County prosecutors accused Richardson of killing Martin Cannon, 39, and Annette Young, 46, in what authorities suggested at the time was a possible love triangle. Cannon was found shot to death April 10 in his home in Mount Pleasant. Young was found beaten to death in her Fairview home.

Richardson surrendered a couple of days later to police in Oregon. He will be sentenced on Dec. 19.
