The letter from Tonia Freeman Doussett (Readers' Forum Nov. 13) concerning gays left a bitter aftertaste. Many gay people are wonderful contributors to life as we know it. Those who have become artists have given us soul-stirring music, beautiful art work, great literature, thrilled us with their dance and written, directed and produced many of our most extraordinary films and Broadway shows. Others have designed our clothes, coiffed our hair, decorated our homes and offices and been chefs extraordinaire. One of my favorite hymns says, "As I have loved you, love one another." It doesn't say " . . . unless you are disabled, a different race or gay." Maybe we'd better sing hymn No. 308 more often.
