President-elect Barack Obama should attend the upcoming U.N. climate meetings this December in Poland. The meetings are an essential step to negotiating a new international climate treaty. Sending this strong signal to the world will help spur the negotiations so that a genuine global agreement meets the seriousness of the problem. Obama needs to tell the world that the years of U.S. blocking progress are over. The planet needs a bailout, too. We can repair our global economy by investing in clean energy around the world.
