Every time I open the newspaper, I read of the continuous trouble in funding important aspects of our lives — such as educating children and paying our teachers well, feeding and clothing the needy and paying our law enforcement properly. We are always told that there is just not enough money. I was very confused then about how we came up with millions for Hogle Zoo. I think before voting for millions of dollars to be spent on something that is not a necessity, we need to take a step back and fund the most important things first. We need to get our priorities straight.
