I grew up in the Rose Park area, then moved to Kearns when I got married. We've lived here for 28 years and have watched with dismay as our neighborhood has gone from a beautiful area where mostly everyone took pride in their homes and yards to an eyesore. As I walk to work along 5600 West, I see the beautiful golf course and well-kept new homes on the west side of the street and dumpy yards, houses and fences on the east.
When I've gone back to Rose Park to visit, the homes and yards are still beautifully kept. What is the difference between these two moderate-income areas? Our homes and yards are an extension of what kind of people we are. What does our area say about us?
