The law of diminishing returns (borrowed from the world of economics) states that increasing one variable of an equation while keeping the rest of the variables constant will eventually yield a result opposite the intended purpose. In plain English, it simply means sometimes you can push an idea too far. Christmas music is the increasing variable in the equation.
While I understand the holiday season is one of hope, such early involvement puts an overload effect on the season. I enjoy Christmas music, but, by the time that "Holy Night" arrives, the music is not so wonderful anymore. Can we celebrate at Christmastime? Or at least in December?
