A routine traffic stop Saturday uncovered 30 balloons filled with cocaine and heroin.

A Salt Lake police officer made a routine traffic stop around 4 p.m. Saturday near 238 E. Herbert Ave., police said. During an inventory search, the officer found 30 balloons of cocaine and heroin.

The 18-year-old driver was booked into Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of drug possession with intent to distribute enhanced to a first-degree felony because he was stopped close to a school.
