African Children’s Choir to sing at Kingsbury

SHARE African Children’s Choir to sing at Kingsbury

The African Children's Choir invites you to go on a "Journey of Hope." The inspirational young singers from Uganda will perform Saturday at Kingsbury Hall at 7:30 p.m.

The choir comprises children ages 7-11, and each member has lost one or both parents to poverty or disease. In circumstances where it would be easy to lose all hope, they are now making a positive impact on society by being a voice for millions of children suffering in Africa.

The children tour for one year, and then a new choir is chosen and the previous members return to their homelands to attend school. Their education is funded by the African Children's Choir.

Since its inception, the choir has helped to establish numerous schools and provide educational scholarships in Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, Sudan and South Africa, and are currently supporting some 8,000 students. Over the years, the choir has been instrumental in financing tuition for thousands of children who would otherwise have no access to an education. Tickets are $22.50-$32.50. Children 18 and under are $10. Call 801-581-7100 or visit www.kingtix.com.
