NFL Sunday

Fantasy tips

CAN'T MISS: Drew Brees. Might set records vs. the Lions.

NOT THIS WEEK: LenDale White. Not against Steel Curtain.

SLEEPER: Chester Taylor. Scored the last four weeks.

FREE AGENT PICKUP: Devin Hester. Packers 'D' stinks.

Local watch

Panther Pro Bowlers: Two former Utes and current Carolina Panthers were named to the Pro Bowl earlier this week. Tackle Jordan Gross will start for the NFC, and receiver Steve Smith will come off the bench.

TV schedule

Cardinals (8-6)

at Patriots (9-5)

FOX 11 a.m.

Not only have all four of the Cardinals' road losses come in the eastern time zone; their defense is in a permanent state of jet lag, allowing an average of 40 points in their last three losses. They won't stop the Pats.

Prediction: Patriots, 40-31

Bills (6-8)

at Broncos (8-6)

CBS 2:05 p.m.

The Broncos should be thankful they play in the AFC West. Where else could such a team that loses three games by 20 or more points remain in first place. OK, the NFC West, but you get my point.

Prediction: Broncos, 30-27

Falcons (9-5)

at Vikings (9-5)

FOX 2:15 p.m.

The Vikings are starting to get that Super Bowl look, winning four in a row with a dynamic running back and the league's No. 1 rush defense. This is probably the last playoff hope for the Falcons.

Prediction: Vikings, 30-23

Panthers (11-3)

at Giants (11-3)

NBC 6:15 p.m.

Wow, the AFC and NFC each having its best teams meet on the same weekend. Without receiver Plaxico Burress, the Giants are kind of shooting themselves in the foot. The winner clinches the No. 1 seed.

Prediction: Panthers, 24-23

Packers (5-9)

at Bears (8-6)

ESPN, Monday, 6:30 p.m.

The Bears are trying to keep pace with the Vikings, and that is enough of a daunting task. Chicago has won three of its past four, mainly by outscoring the opposition in the first quarter, 38-3.

Prediction: Bears, 23-15
