PROVO — Police say a man who threatened pedestrians and fellow drivers and then led officers on a short chase Tuesday had a pair of nunchucks hidden in his car.

The man threatened to kill pedestrians on Center Street and also yelled profanities at drivers next to him, according to a police report filed Wednesday in 4th District Court. Police tried to pull him over at 500 W. Center, but the 31-year-old Provo man wouldn't stop.

Other patrol cars joined the chase and the man finally stopped at 300 South and 300 West. A search of the man's car turned up a pair of nunchucks — a common martial arts weapon — between the seats.

The man was booked into Utah County Jail for investigation of evading police, terroristic threats, concealing a dangerous weapon and driving on a suspended license — all misdemeanor offenses.
