Dwane Hyrum Brough

1922 ~ 2008

Dwane Hyrum Brough, 85, died February 16 in Salt Lake City.

Born August 26, 1922 in Nephi Utah to Hyrum and Lucille Greenwood Brough. Graduated from Juab High School where he sang leads in all of the Operettas. He then graduated from the University of Utah after serving as Lieutenant Colonel for the U.S. Air Force in World War II. He led the church choir for ten years. He taught school and was an elementary school principal in Juab County before moving to Davis County around 1960. Aside from his administrative duties Dwane salvaged the bricks from a condemned school and built a home in Nephi. He would go on to build two more homes in Bountiful as well as a cabin in Aspen Acres. He retired from Davis School District in 1983 but continued to dance and ride his Goldwing motorcycle.

A loving father to four children, he is survived by his sons, Jeff, Jim (Virginia), Dave (Clarice) and daughter, Rebecca (Mike Thorpe) seven grandchildren and thre great grand-children.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2008 at Mountain View Memorial 3115 E. Bengal Blvd (7800 S.). Visitation from 1:30-2:00. Refreshments will be served at the Woodbridge Clubhouse following the services.
