Bad Dog Rediscovers America, a local community arts program for youths, is looking for teens to participate in its spring Art Apprenticeship Program.
Selected teens will be mentored by a professional artist and receive up to 60 hours of intense creative skills and technique building while earning a modest stipend. "We are encouraging motivated teens who have a passion for art to apply," says Bad Dog's creative director, Victoria Lyons.
Applications are due by Saturday. Applicants must provide a personal interest statement, two letters of recommendation and work samples/portfolio. Call 322-3826 or visit www.baddogkids.org for an application.
One of the program's successful projects is a mural completed by teens working with artist Ruby Chacon last summer. The completed mural is permanently installed in the reception area at the Salt Lake Neighborhood Housing Services main office.
