ST. GEORGE — Police are investigating a home-invasion robbery that left two men beaten.

Police said it happened about 6:45 a.m. Sunday at a condo complex in Hidden Valley.

"This girl met a couple of guys in Mesquite. They couldn't find a motel so she offered them her couch," St. George Police Sgt. Craig Harding said Monday.

The two men were awakened by a knock on the door. When one answered, police said two men barged in.

"One had a bat. One had a gun," Harding said. "The suspect with the bat started to hit both of these guys. When the suspects entered they were yelling about money and the keys to the car."

At one point, officers said a shot was fired into the TV. One of the victims ran out the back door and called 911. The assailants fled with some money. Police said they were working to identify the men and confirm a motive for the robbery.
