On Sunday, February 17, 2008, Steven Anthony Garcia passed away at University Hospital due to acute liver failure. He was surrounded by family and friends.Steve was born October 21, 1970 in Weslaco, Texas to Roberto and Rachael Garcia. The family moved to Utah in 1978. Steve attended Taylorsville High School
Steve married Susannah Cook on June 4, 1994. Steve will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Susannah and his daughters, Stephanie and Katie. Steve will also be fondly remembered by his parents, Roberto and Rachael, his siblings, Monica (Brad) Yamasaki, Richard, Rob, Mike, his lifelong friend, Victor Leal, and by his in-laws, Gail and Tom Madsen, and Gurney and Delores Cook. Steve will also be forever remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
A memorial open house will be held on Saturday, February 23, between the hours of noon and 4 p.m. at the LDS 6th Ward, 1750 North 900 West, in West Bountiful. Upon the decision of his family, Steve's cremation will be handled by Serenicare in Draper, Utah. lieu of flowers, donations would be greatly appreciated for the support of Steve's wife and daughter, and to assist with expenses related to his passing.
