Loved and respected Husband, Father, Grandfather Henry LaMar Hicks, 72, passed away February 15, 2008 in West Jordan, Utah surrounded by loved ones. Born December 19, 1935 in Birdseye, Utah to James Hicks and Isabelle Powell White Hicks.

Henry LaMar Hicks is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carol Woodruff, children; Terrilyn (Jesse) Summers, Scott (Nancy) Hicks, Patrick (Dori) Hicks, Keith (Connie) Hicks, Nathan (Tammy) Hicks, Dale (Jennifer) Hicks, Catherine Trone. He will greatly miss 28 grandchildren and two great-grandsons whose association he so enjoyed. LaMar has two surviving sisters, Blanche (Clifford) Sadler, Isabel (Elmer) Phibbs. Preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Lavon (Keith) Woodruff, Ruth (James) Holland and Ann Hicks.

He loved his family, the gospel of Jesus Christ, missionary work and music. LaMar attended the University of Utah, served a full time LDS mission to South Australia and was proud to serve in the Utah Air National Guard. He loved photography and traveled to more than 28 countries sharing his experiences through his photos.

The family expresses appreciation to the medical staff at Utah Cancer Specialist and the warm caring services from Hearts for Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Huntsman Cancer Institute in LaMar's name.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008 at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. 10600 So. Sandy, Utah at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday at 10:00 a.m. also at Larkin Sunset Gardens. Interment Larkin Sunset Gardens.
