Send questions to mormontimes@desnews.com:
Will Mormon Times recognize the international nature of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or will it be just another Utah-centric publication?
The current Mormon Times publication primarily is a section that is printed and distributed once a week with the Deseret Morning News. Because the newspaper's primary circulation area is in Utah, the bulk of news coverage will be from Utah. When the mormontimes.com Web site is launched shortly, it will reflect the international scope of the church.
That said, however, the current Mormon Times is not limited to Utah-only news — one of our main columnists (Orson Scott Card) is not in Utah, and in the past three weeks we've had news items from Idaho, Washington state, Illinois and England. Also, the new Web site will not be devoid of Utah news items — Salt Lake City still is headquarters of the church.
