The Deseret Mo.rning News — along with many calendars and organizations — has departed from public law when it misnames the third Monday of February. United States Code, Title 5, Section 6103(a) calls the third Monday in February "Washington's Birthday," while Utah Law (63-13-2) titles it "Washington and Lincoln Day." I urge the Deseret Morning News and others to call the day by its official name designated by Congress or the Utah Legislature, rather than what it is called in pop culture.
