BOUNTIFUL — A kickoff event will be held Saturday for KUED's 14th annual Young Writers and Illustrators Competition, part of a nationwide competition sponsored by Reading Rainbow.
The event will be from 1-4 p.m. at Country Inns & Suites by Carlson Bountiful, 999 N. 500 West, Bountiful.
Youngsters are invited to participate in hands-on storytime and activities with local authors Mark and Caralyn Buehner as they learn the elements of a good story and have the opportunity to map out their own story for submission to the contest.
