Lena Emily Anderson Brown

1915 ~ 2008

Lena Emily Anderson Brown peacefully passed away on February 2, 2008. She faithfully endeavored to the end with grace and humor. Lena was born November 26, 1915 in Grantsville, Utah to Charles J and Rennie Clark Anderson. She spent her youth in Grantsville and later attended Utah State.

After attending school she moved to California where she met Edward (Bud) Brown. They were married Jan. 4, 1939. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.

They moved to Grantsville where they owned and operated the Donner Motel.

Lena was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served along with her husband in the Spanish Extraction Program. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.

She is survived by her children: Susanna (Charles) Johnson of Washington DC, Stephen (Sue) Brown of Grantsville, Cindy (Conrad) of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Roger Brown of Dundee, Oregon; 16 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister June, brothers Lee and Allan Kay, and daughter-in-law Sally Brown.

Funeral services will be held February 6, 2008 at 11 a.m. in the Grantsville West Stake Center, 115 East Cherry Street. Viewing will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Grantsville City Cemetery.
