The life of President Gordon B. Hinckley was honored Feb. 26 by the Utah House of Representatives.

The lawmakers passed a resolution paying tribute to the late Church leader, who died Jan. 27. Several members of President Hinckley's family were in attendance in the House Chamber when the resolution was passed, including son, Clark Hinckley. They were given a standing ovation by the representatives.

Before passing HCR6, several legislators shared their feelings about President Hinckley, calling him a "builder" who made the world a better place.

"President Hinckley had a tremendous influence, not only on the Church, but in Salt Lake City, Utah, the United States and the world," said Republican lawmaker Mike Morley.

Democratic representative Phil Riesen called President Hinckley an irreplaceable man.

"We will likely not see someone of President Hinckley's stature again in our lifetimes," Rep. Riesen said. "I will miss him very much."
