Blaine Gale bemoans the political cartoon of Bill Clinton (March 7) answering the 3 a.m. phone call in the White House with "Yo, Monica. Is that you?" as being in bad taste. No, Mr. Gale, it isn't the cartoonist who created the bad taste in our collective memory — it was President Clinton's pernicious philandering and prevaricating.
Political cartoonists have always lampooned such lewd behavior by prominent politicians. I hope they always will. Hillary's phone-answering ad left the Clintons wide open to this shot. The cartoon is clever, well-drawn and well-deserved. Let the show go on.
