OGDEN — Firefighters have been unable to determine the cause of a house fire that killed a 15-year-old girl.
"It's listed as undetermined and it's going to stay that way because we had to take the house down," deputy Ogden Fire Chief Chad Tucker said Wednesday.
The Feb. 29 fire killed Yvette Begay in the basement of the home on the 300 block of 32nd Street. Begay was trapped in the home and unable to escape as smoke and flames ripped through the home. The home ended up being demolished.
Tucker said investigators do not believe the cause of the fire was suspicious, but will likely never be able to determine a true cause.
