Thomas Dean Hamilton
1950 ~ 2008
Our beloved Tom returned to the arms of his Father in Heaven on March 14, 2008, after a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. Tom was born July 30, 1950 to Dick and Connie Hamilton. He graduated from Skyline High and
received a degree in business
management from the University of Utah. He was an entrepreneur that built Utah Tees and Fleece, which
after 25 years is still a very
successful business. He also had many successful real estate ventures.
Tom loved to travel, especially cruises, Mazatlan, and going to his cabin "Hamilton Haven". He also loved watching golf, tennis, and most of all U of U football and Utah Jazz. Tom enjoyed bowling and golfing until he was limited by health issues.
Tom was married to Judy Sprouse and they had Tiffani, Tommy Jr., and Richard. Divorced. Later he married Launi Lawrence and together they had Jeremiah James (Jeremy) and Shiann Hailey (Shi) which were the loves of his life. He was a member of the LDS Church (and the best ward in Utah).
Survived by Launi and their children, Jer and Shi of Murray; also survived by daughter, Tiffany and her daughter, Alyssa of St. George; son, Richard Hamilton of St. George; mother, Connie Hamilton of Murray; sister, Debbie Lombardo and her family; "adopted son" and dearest friend, Glen Gillen and his family. Preceded in death by father, Dick Hamilton; infant son, Tom Jr.; in-laws Jimmy and Mary Ann Lawrence, and both maternal and paternal grandparents. Also survived by canine friends: Ginger, Mickee, and Mini which gave him so much comfort
towards the end.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wed. March 19th 2008 at the Farm Hill Ward, 5235 S. Wesley Rd (1107 E.) in Murray. Viewing from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the ward house on Tues. March 18th and also from 10:00-10:45 on Wed. morning prior to the service.
Tom's loved ones would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Jon Whisenant, Dr. Jane MacPherson, and all of the staff at Utah Cancer Specialists. We would also like to thank Intermountain Hospice, and especially, Jennifer. You may share condolences at www.serenicare.com
